It gives her an opportunity to meet all the beautiful brides in their beautiful dresses and share with them her love of fashion and accessories. It gives the brides the chance to work with a professional stylist and to get her free advice on how to create their own special look for their special day. After asking a few interesting question Debra is able to get an understanding of the bride's tastes and personality and pertinent interesting facts about the event.
Using an expanded collection of Paris jewelry and Paris Accessories that travels with her, Debra is able to help the bride, and often times her mother, select the perfect compliments to their dresses. It also allows them the opportunity to create custom jewelry, all made by the talented American artisans at the Paris studios in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Debra introduced several new collections at the International Bridal Market in New York last month and all were very well received. The favorite seemed to be the "La Dolce Vita" collection which was inspired by her "La Dolce Vita" earrings, everyone's favorite earrings.

The enameled filagree flowers encrusted with tiny crystals are both magical and modern, especially when done in large scale like the headband and necklace.

The Royal Wedding

With the Royal Wedding just days away we at Paris along with the rest of the fashion world are anxious to see which tiara Kate will choose to wear down the aisle. Traditionally Queen Elizabeth II gives the bride her tiara as a wedding gift, but the tiara which Kate is given may not necessarily be the one she wears down the aisle. According to all the experts and educated guesses here are the frontrunners for Kate's big day...

The "Cambridge Lover's Knot" is a favorite as it is expected that the Queen will bestow the title of "Duke of Cambridge" upon her grandson. The fact that this was given by the Queen to his mother Diana and she wore it often, there may be some protocol issues with this beautiful and historic piece

Another favorite included in the short list is the "Fringe" tiara worn by Queen Elizabeth II on her wedding day. Because she has worn this many times and continues to wear it, this may not be considered if the Queen decides to wear this herself.

Last Wednesday evening the Cincinnati Museum of Art hosted a bridal fashion show in conjunction with their Wedded Perfection exhibit, sponsored by Bridal and Formal and Paris. It was a standing room only event and a beautiful show with over 60 fashions showcasing mostly bridal but also bridesmaids and mother of the wedding. I styled them using all my most beautiful Paris accessories. The hit of the show was this beautiful Vera Wang black voile ballgown straight from the NY runway, accessorized with my "Neptune's Daughter" necklace.

I gave a short introduction to the evening and then rushed backstage to make sure everything looked perfect. It was a busy evening but thanks Lisa and Andy at Bridal and Formal and to all involved turned out great! D

Wedded Perfection: Two Centuries of Wedding Gowns

The big excitement around here is an incredible new show that has just open at the Cincinnati Museum of Art: "Wedded Perfection: Two Centuries of Wedding Gowns". It has been many years in the planning and presents some of the most fantastic fashions over a 200 years period. This is an absolute must see for everyone in the bridal or fashion industry and anyone who loves fashion.

They are also showing and selling a collection of some of my most beautiful Paris accessories in the Museum gift shop, I am so excited and honored to be there.

In conjunction there is a Bridal Fashion show at the museum on Wednesday November 10th, our partners at Bridal and Formal will be showing some fantastic gowns straight from the NY runways and I will be designing the accessories to compliment each dress. It is open to the public and free of charge. Promises to be a fantastic evening!!

End of Summer 2010

As always, Labor Day holiday and the end of summer comes as a shock but we here at Paris are always excited because it means we are weeks away from our NY market and we are busy, busy, busy getting prepared.

Fall also means a busy Trunk Show schedule and getting to meet and work with the beautiful new brides to be. I always get inspired by their excitment, the wonderful dresses and their love of my accessories.

The artisans here in the studio have had a busy summer getting ready for fall and winter brides and with quite a few rush orders for our "Barefoot Sandals" for those summer Beach Bound Brides. They are the perfect alternative to white flipflops and look so elegant around the pool on the honeymoon.

I am thrilled that everyone loves my "Glad Tidings" collection of accessories. It seems to be the combination of traditional floral elements and the touch of drama that everyone is responding to. Thanks to everyone for their kind notes and comments on this collection.

My team of artisans and I are working feverishly on my new collection that will be introduced to our stores in New York mid october. Inspired by a Victorian Jewelry advertisment I have designed a sweet and romantic "Little Birds" collection. My other inspirations this season have been my summer hydrangeas, classic sparkle in the hair, on the neck and everywhere, great earrings and belts, belts, belts! I have designed some new painted veils that are truly modern and unique accent for that special bride. I can't wait for everyone's reaction to my new things at market.

For the Moms....

I have not forgotten the Mothers... This fall I am introducing a collection especially for them. I have been doing lots of research on the most classic and current fashion colors and have created a collection with a bit more color and drama for all the beautiful mothers. NAACP Award Winner!!!

Congratulations to Kimberly Elise on winning a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini Series, or Dramatic Special based on her performance in "The Gifted Hand" on TNT.

Debra and Jill had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly Elise at the Secret Room Events gifting suit for the Golden Globes in January. Debra styled Ms. Elise with our Silver Bells belt by using it as a head wrap in Kimberly's hair. Kimberly loved our piece so much she wore it on Friday, February 26th for the NAACP Image Awards! We think she looked AMAZING and are honored she chose PARIS.

Martha Stewart Weddings 15th Anniversary Party

After several days of serious hard work in the showroom, it was great to step out and attend one of the most amazing parties we've ever been to! The party was held at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan and it was chock full of amazing food, cocktails and professionals in the bridal industry.

There was a fun booth set up for pictures and we were tickled pink with the results:

So the adorable gals from Martha Stewart Weddings popped into our showroom and totally fell in love with a few of our new pieces as well as a few from previous seasons. Their favorite hands-down was the new "Paper Wings" veil combo. Debra gorgeously modeled both the long($2175 suggested retail) and the short face veil($225 suggested retail).
